Brian's Bio
Born in Des Moines, Iowa in 1971, Brian began playing the drums at the age of 4, following his father's footsteps as a drummer.  Throughout his childhood he had spent much of his time learning and listening to records his father would play on the stereo in his parents' basement, taking in bluegrass, dixieland, rock 'n roll and country music.

By the late 80's Brian began to gig locally in Des Moines - hitting the blues scene and making a name for himself by the age of 22.  Holding steady house gigs at Blues On Grand (then called Grand Avenue Lounge) and being named as Iowa's 'first-call' drummer, Brian had played with many blues bands such as The Soul Searchers, which was the first blues band he had joined, along with The Bobcats, Bob Pace and the Blues Burners, Chicago Rick Lussie's Blues Band, The Delta Kings and fill-in spots for The Greasefire Horns, The Landsharks and other local bands.

After performing with Iowa's own blues band, Bob Dorr and The Blue Band (2002-03), Brian moved to Austin, TX.  There he worked as full-time drummer for Rob Roy Parnell (the brother of grammy nominating guitarist Lee Roy Parnell), along side with bassist Larry Lang from the 80's era of Delbert McClinton.  Touring Texas and the gulf for 2 years, the decision to move to Kansas City became reality and would lead him to blues harmonica great, Lee McBee.

And now, we are proud to have Brian as the newest member of Doghouse Daddies!!
